The purpose of this blog is to actively engage in local, national, and global issues for further enrichment of intellectual, spiritual, social and cultural selves in a rapidly changing world.
I found this article to be disturbing. I mean everyone has heard of Darfur but this is something that many people don’t even know about. People are being tormented and living in a hellish environment in fear for their lives every day. They must hope for someone to come and aid them and yet no one shows. It makes me nauseous to know that there are all these powerful nations, including the United States, and things like this are still taking place. After the Holocaust, nations developed an agreement that nothing like that will ever take place again. So why are all of these nations’s turning their backs on these people. Young girls and women being raped, men and women being killed in cold blood, and people dying of starvation is a serious issue that showed not be taking place. The fact that people have to escape through the trees, risking their lives, just to reach the boarder so that they can feel even slightly safe says a lot. People should not have to live like this no matter the color of their skin, what religion they practice, or what part of the world they live in.
