  2. This article was interesting and I agree with the composer. I am a demacrat, but with many events that has happened in the last 4 years, and the promises made but not realevent action taken and the way that our country has been lead, I was not sure who I was going to vote for this November. Maybe I would go for Romney. After I started seeing his ads, and then the speeches before, after, and at the Republican convention. I beleive that he is fake and does not really know politics as our "President" should. So why vote for someone like that? I also believ that he will take in America and feed us to the Afaganies or Terrioists just like our former Bush's. Again this article rocks, and I completly agree with the composer.

  3. I am very interested in politics so I really enjoyed this article! I love listening to the arguments and debates from both parties, and learning about their believes. I am not a republican or a democrat. I just support the best candidate, not basing it on their party. I do not support Mitt Romney at all though, because I think he is cocky and arrogant. I think that he is putting on a show so that he can get elected, then he could do some "damage" to our country. I am going to continue watching the conventions and will definitely be voting on election day! This was a great read!I do for the most part agree with the author!

  4. The article is focused on Romney and the way he is running his campaign. There are only a few weeks left till the election. Romney isn’t putting forth much of an effort, at least that is how it seems to the author. There are a lot of things that Romney should do or should have done to up his chances of winning. He has to show more confidence, become braver, and thoughtfully attack the important issues. Instead of going out talking, having more press conferences, and trying to relate to the voters he “hides behind fund raisers.” How is that helping the people of America to get to know him? I agree with the article, he need to step it up. Such as give bigger more abundant speeches that talk about the problems and issues every one is thinking about and wondering what he would do if he were to win. We need to be told about what is going on currently in America, what we must do to make a change, and how we will accomplish that. I agree with the author, “If you’re going to lose, lose honorably. If you’re going to win do it with meaning.”

  5. I agree with the position of the author of this article. When this article was written, the Romney campaign was kind of a sinking ship. And an intervention was necessary. I cannot speak to when, if, or how it came about, but the campaign Mitt Romney is running now is much stronger and more stable then the one when this article was written. Romney has stepped up, and his public speaking presence has improved greatly. In this past debate, Romney's cool and collected demeanor combined with Obama's uneasy avoidance of questions swung the debate heavily in Romney's favor. He seems to have taken the advice from this article (directly or indirectly) and turned it into a more positive campaign.

  6. I agree with the author of the article. I feel that Romney was never really a bad public speaker, yet Obama did seem do have him beat in that category. Now that the republican campaign has take some advice that has been critical of them and used it in their advantage I feel that Romney is finnally over the hump of being a great speaker.

  7. "If you’re gonna lose, lose honorably. If you’re gonna win do it with meaning" There is a lot of sense in what was said. Mitt Romney is a great orator. But it can possibly be the fact that he has little experience in big crowds. Yet his doubt about winning shows a lack of confidence, and saying that will actually cause a drop in votes for him because people do not want to feel sorry for a guy who leads the country. Romney knows what needs to be said, he is practiced in politics but he gives the answers the nation wants, not what the nation needs.

  8. I agree with the autor, an intervention is needed. It's focused on Mitt Romney and how he handles his campaigning techniques. He needs to put more effort in order to win this election. His ads are boring and doesn't really talk about all of the important issues. The people that are supposed to be voting for him don't actually know what he is all about. He instead needs to talk about issues that can arrise and talk about how he would deal with them. I also agree with the author on “If you’re going to lose, lose honorably. If you’re going to win do it with meaning.” Why run for this election if you're not actually going to try?

  9. I am not very interested in politics, but this article made me feel otherwise. I wasn't exactly sure where the "intervention" part was going but it made this article open my eyes. Once I read this, I realized that kicking Obama to the curb is going to take A LOT. If Romney plans to become president he is going to have to kick it up a notch! If Mitt Romney wants to take on the responsibilities of leading our nation, he needs to have the determination and the will power to succeed. From what I read and understood, he isn't working as hard as he should to be the president of the USA!

  10. I believe that this is a very biased opinion. This whole election to me is just a battle back and fourth between the two candidates. I understand that in politics that is the whole point, but at the same time we are not addressing the issues. All they are worrying about is bashing on the other candidate. The debate was an awful display of who is going to be running this country and I believe if they would stop worrying about cutting the other candidate down and focusing on the issues that this country is facing it would make everyone's decision a lot easier when the election comes.

  11. I, for one enjoyed the article even though it showed the bias of the author. I like that everyone should at least have a basic understanding of what is going down in the political world. I am political studies and a history major, but i am also a active republican, i believe that it is time for the two candidates to get off their high horses and do what is right for this country. instead of catering to its wants, the candidates should be looking towards the needs of the US, if they plan to make it a better place. plus, i also think that Romney has some challenges to over come if he is to beat Obama for presidency. i can't wait to see what will happen in November.

  12. I found this article insightful and refreshing. It may have held some bias, but not a detrimental amount. The author honestly critiqued Romney's weaknesses but also gave sound advice to how he can turn around his campaign. I especially agree with the end of the article which addressed the lack of rallies, events, and public appearances. As a general public we are becoming wise to the games of politics. We understand that all ads are biased and just trying to slander the other politician. It creates an almost depressing aura, we know we are being played with but can do little about it but try to pick the lesser of two evils. I think that the candidate who makes the average American feel valuable and important will win this election. That will be the candidate who stops attending only private fundraiser and starts hosting rallies, being available to the people. It does a lot to make people believe their government cares about the little guy.

  13. I am a Democrat and switching to a Republican this year. I feel that through the last 4 years Obama and the party has not done a very good job at keeping his promises. However, I feel that Romney will do an outstanding job through the way he speaking. Also I hate the back and fourth between candidates. I would just like them to state what they have to offer and not worry so much about the other.

  14. I have recently gained some interests in politics especially with the election coming up next month. I do agree that Mitt Romney is not putting enough effort into his campaigning strategies. If he expects to win the election he should step it up. He is not a terrible public speaker but regardless if he improved his appearance with more events or speeches rather than biased ads then he would be a stronger candidate. Important issues and confidence must become more apparent on his part. He has to make his voice heard to inspire genuine votes. In my opinion Romney is not working hard enough to take on the responsibilities of the US president. I do not doubt that Romney doesn't have the ability to run the country, but his strengths must out weigh his weaknesses.

  15. As i get older, i find myself paying attention to politics a bit more as time passes. This article was an interesting one at the very least. From my little experience, Romney has not run a vey good campaign and I do believe it will hurt him eventually. Romney rubs me the wrong way but i do believe he has the necessary tools to be successful if he would just improve his abilties in running for president. Clearly giving more speeches and having more events would only boost his popularity and help his chances. I don't think Romney lacks confidence but I do believe he lacks the abilty to back that confidence up. At this point i do not believe Romney will be president due to lack of preparation.

  16. I am not interested in politics at all, but this article made see the world of politics. I realized that kicking Obama to the curb is going to take a lot. If Mitt Romney wants to take on the responsibilities of leading the US, he needs to have the drive and the power to succeed. As of right now he isn't working as hard as he should to be the president and it will hurt him in the end.

  17. In a time when America is in need of a new face in the white house it seems like a win for Romney should be iminent. However in order for Romney to win he has to be at his best. He needs to overwhelm the current Obama regime in his methods and the way he presents himself to the people. He has to take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself to him. We need to approach the current issues this country faces witha new, more conservitive approach and Romney is right for the job. It wont be easy to get Obama out of office so Romney has to strive to be the better man and the first debate he had with Obama he did just that. He displayed outstanding charisma and a great drive to get this country back on track. His demeanor and the plans he presented to implement if he gets elected are just what America is in need of. Romney has to keep that up in order to get elected this November.

  18. William Leskosky,

In my opinion, I don't think I will vote for Romney. Speaking to others, many of us are on the same boat. Many do not like how Obama has been in office. Many do not like how Romney is doing in his debates, making him sound like he isn't ready to be president. I do not think Obama or Romney are a good choice, but how do we choose? As mentioned in the article, its all about hope and faith to some. I feel like this is for everyone. Obama, may have his negatives, but so does Romney. I myself am still debating.

  19. To me, this year’s election is beyond boring. Neither Romney nor Obama have my vote yet because neither have really did anything to explain what they plan to do for our country. I don’t care about ads or speeches that bash the other candidate; I care about what is in store for this country. The last four years of Obama being in office has been a complete mess, all I hear people talk about is how he put us in more debt than we already were in. If he didn’t make a change, like he campaigned, in the last four years why would he do it in the next four years. As far as Romney goes, I don’t really have much to base him off of except that he doesn’t really seem like he wants to win. If I am going to vote this year, it better be for someone who is determined to win and who wants to do more for this country.
