  1. I found this article to be very interesting. I have never really thought about the youth attending church and now that I do think about it more have started attending or returning to church and youth groups. The article placed technology and everyday life's chaos as a main reason faith has become a larger part of life. It makes sense that in all the madness and fast past days you want to take a break and just live in peace. Just take one day or a small amount of time each day to just focus on life and oneself. Giving up electronics and work and everything for an hour a day sounds great to me. This whole article just puts into perspective that life moves too fast and people need to slow down and enjoy it. I feel like times have changed so much and material items are so important. Could today's youth handle just one day if we live like people did 20 years ago. Seeing youth head towards faith for that relaxation and peaceful time makes me feel good and like people are still trying to focus on what is important in life.

  2. The article on the life and career of Arlen Spector was very interesting. In my opinion it sounds like he never really held close ties to either the democratic or the republican party. This can be seen as both a strength and a weakness. At best it shows that he voted more based on what he believed was right than based on a party platform. At worst, it makes Spector appear wishy-washy, or indecisive. I can see why it was difficult for him to gain the support and trust of either party. And this is where I don't like politics, because personally I believe we need more politicians like Spector. People who see beyond party lines and make decisions based on what they truly feel is best for the country. I think you will find that most people in society fall somewhere between the two parties, not agreeing 100% with one or the other. I respect what Spector has done and while I do not agree with all of his decisions, I can understand how difficult it would be to remain impartial in such a divided industry. Very interesting article to read and provides a good example of the good and evil in the two party system.
