  1. No matter how you look at it, "Real Romney" brings a sense of humor to the ideals of the presidentail campaign. Everything written about Romney, whether in commercial or newspaper, seems to show some sort of mythical presidential candidate. His mother might have given birth to him in Virginia and Ohio, but that seems improbable. Peoples opinions get in the way of the truth, and the truth becomes hard to deceipher. Ultimately, if Romneys goal achieves the supremacy america, why not vote for him? Do we want america as the best? Or not?

  2. This article is very interesting, factual, yet comical. The information about his passed life and the things he has done as a child is remarkable and a true eye opener. It just proves Romney's determination. In a sense, this article shows the strengths of Romney and what he can do for us if he wins the presidency. Most people look at your passed history to see what you can to for us. He seemed to be someone who had mostly walked in a line of success. Success is something we need for this country.

  3. I have always viewed Mitt Romney as an arrogant jerk. After reading this article, I still feel the same but have a better understanding of him. The article,"Real Romney" is pretty humorous in providing his background. Like all presidential elections, the truth is bent leaving America to be sold blindly based solely on which candidate is more convincing. Therefore, I have no major interest in politics and the upcoming election. I do however, find a certain point rather interesting. For example, Romney's vision of "...bring all Americans together and make them feel inferior." Although that sounds all fine and dandy, my question is to what extent would Americans be brought together and would inferiority be spread equally? And how would Romney go about making this a reality? Another point like James mentioned would it be for greater good of America or would it be another set back?

  4. My question is if why are we voting for these puppets still? Everyday both candidates show that neither have any business in the white house. Mitt's a shifty rich guy and Barrack is an equally shifty communist (not being slanderous, both of those descriptions are facts.) If we really want what is best for this nation we should take George Washington's advice and abondon political parties. There must be one truly good independent candidate that wants a real and respectable America, a greater good. Like my dad always told me, you don't have to vote for the winner. Unfortunately, most Americans do not agree and are going to vote for the same party they always have and that their parents always have and that their grandparents always have just, because the candidate's name ends with a D. or an R. So in reality, is there even hope for a greater America?

  5. This article was actually very funny and well written, but I do not agree with all of his points. He seems to hate Romney mostly because he is from a well off family, and has done very well for himself in his own adult life. I don't think that there is anything wrong with having a little extra money. Isn't that the American dream? I think that if he does as well with our country as he has done with his business endeavors, he should definitely be next in office. I don't have any problem with the fact that he is wealthy and comes from a well off family.

  6. The article was actually funny but the author only seemed to dislike Romney because of his wealth. It was a well written article but the only things he actually pointed out was his money and his family. I think the author could have used other points besides just Romney being a successful man. I don't think there is anything wrong with being successful and I think the author could write the same thing about any politician not just Romney.

  7. I found this article kind of irritating and cynical. While I appreciate many of the points the author makes through these more extreme and cynical arguments, I have never really appreciated this type of journalism. It leads me to wonder what the point of this type of article is? It will only cause Romney supporters to respond emotionally and Romney's opponents do not gain any substantial facts to back their opinion. It appears the sole purpose is simply to depict Romney in a negative light without providing any significant figures or actual arguments. This type of journalism is dangerous and misleading, I am not an outspoken Romney or Obama supporter but I am a strong supporter of journalism with a purpose.

  8. In all honesty I enjoyed the article, it was funny and well written. On the other hand I would say I disagree with how he feels about Mitt Romney. The author put forth such an effort to make him look bad and it mainly revolved around him and his family being wealthy. I personally feel that if he wanted to make more of a point about not liking Romney he should have focused more on what he has done and how he portrays himself. Yes, he has accomplished a lot in his life and yes and it does help that he has money, but from what you read he seems like a very determined individual. Why would we not want a president with determination?

  9. Personally, I was never a huge fan of politics and after reading this article it gives me a reminder of why I'm not. Due to my view on such topics, I found this article very humorous and accurate. I feel the author did a great job depicting who "the real Romney" is. I'm not saying this because I'm all for Obama, but from talking around I've heard nothing but horror stories about Romney. The last sentence from this article really stood out to me, "If elected, he promises to bring all Americans together and make them feel inferior." I agree with this statement in the fact that yes, he comes from a very wealthy family in which case he is able to relate to the high-class population. What percentage of America falls under the high-class population? I would much rather see a president elected who can relate more to the middle-class population since that makes up the majority of America. Maybe I feel this way due to ignorance, or maybe because I am tired of all the "political promises." I want to see someone who will actually make that good change in America, not see our country slowly sink farther into the ground.

  10. I really enjoyed reading this article, it was very funny. It portrayed the idea that Mitt Romney is too wealthy and would be out of touch with the regular Americans if he were to be elected president very well. However, I agree with Kayla that it would have been better if the author had included his policies and previous actions in the article and not put so much focus on the amount of money he has. I did disagree with one area of the article, where it focuses on how he would be out of touch with the American people because he graduated from Harvard. Personally, I don't think it matters where you went to college as long as you were successful and learned what you need to know. However, I do agree with the main point of the article that he could be out of touch with Americans. But, I don't think we will truly know unless he is elected president.

  11. The irony in this article is a good touch. The title being “Real Romney” as if this will be a true and maybe positive story about Romney's life, and the article then clearly puts that title to shame within the opening few paragraphs about Romney’s first words being “I like to fire people” and how he made millions of Jujubes off selling his preschool. The writer takes every aspect of life as Romney grows up and starts it off as any normal childhood but then nonchalantly turns it into something outrageous. The article can definitely gain some laughs. Politics doesn't always have to be serious as evidenced here. For an obvious anti-Romney person, this is a sure way of an attempt to deter people from voting for him because they will find it funny and yet still get the information that the opposite party wants to be associated with his name.

  12. I don't see how this article does any good. In fact, it's a step back in restoring politics. This article show the shamefulness of one party pitting against the other. How is bashing Romney by fictionalizing and dramatizing his life helping get to the heart of issues here in the United States. Truth is, I'm not the biggest Romney fan, but this disgracefulness doesn't affirm my feelings, it simply disgusts me. If you want to see real work being done, stop wasting time makeing one another look bad and start working on what our nation needs. We have people dieing because they can't afford healthcare, one in six Americans are currently in poverty, and about half of every dollar going to the military. This is where I want to see change. Let's work to create a movement of shalom for this world as a whole.

  13. This article was very humorous. I thought it was going to be Romney's real life then after i started to read it I realized it was meant to be a funny article. I think it is okay to have some humor in politics because most of the time people get so sick of hearing about politics that maybe if there was a little humor in the situation it would get the information across in a funny, more interesting way. I don't agree with the statement how he could be out of touch with the American People though. I think a president that has gotten higher education from a college like Harvard is good for America. I don't think they should be discouraging people to vote for Romney based on what college he went too. I think because he comes from a wealthy family and has a good education that he has the ability to do good things for this country.

  14. This article was very well written, and I thought it was extremely funny. I think it brings to light the kind of man Romney truly is because we only see the signs of perfection that he portrays on his campaign ads. I think it was a very unique was to help people understand politics. It gave us a light, humorous look at the background of a man that has the chance to become our president. I loved how they said he gained knowledge in tax evasion. I think that is a huge key in his election because he has these "tax" plans that he talks about, but how can you listen to a man that paid a little over 13% on 40 plus million dollars. It brings everything to light that we aren't going to hear straight from the mouth of Mitt, obviously, but these are things that we still need to know. I think people are blinded by the achievements that these people have. They say oh look, he went to Harvard, and I think big deal? I don't care where anyone went to school, its your knowledge about the nation you are running, and I feel the person who wrote this article did a very good job in helping display that.
